Kindred Spirits

We share the earth with remarkable creatures. Some are terrifying, some are awe-inspiring, some are creepy, some are cute and cuddly, but they’re all here with a purpose and our species learns from them. Animals are our Kindred Spirits. They show us parts of ourselves we may not have otherwise noticed.

Squirrels chase each other up tree trunks and leap from limb to limb like children do on a jungle gym. The lioness guards her pride with fierce devotion like our own human Mamas do. Elephants walk in herds and mourn the loss of one of their own like, much the same way we do when we lose our own loved ones.

We mirror each other and inhabit the same space. It only stands to reason that we look to them with curious eyes and care for them. They’re all admirable in their own way.
